Aerolift, a globally recognized company for its vacuum-based lifting equipment, is often asked to provide a complete solution covering the full range of handling needs — even when vacuum technology is impossible or not recommended. That’s why we also design non-vacuum lifting equipment.

Here are some examples of past and upcoming Aerolift non-vacuum lifting solutions:

Aerogripper: lifting wrapped paper rolls

One of the first non-vacuum solutions developed was the Aerogripper. The client was already using fully automated Aerolift vacuum lifters to lift paper rolls. However, these rolls often need to be wrapped before being shipped by sea. Wrapped paper rolls cannot be handled safely with vacuum technology, as the vacuum pressure could break or tear the packaging.

To handle these wrapped paper rolls, we developed the hydraulic Aerogripper — a six-arm paper clamp capable of lifting wrapped rolls. The Aerogripper lifts the rolls in a vertical position. Its six gripping arms adapt to the dimensions of the rolls, which are placed with minimal spacing between them, allowing for very efficient use of storage space. Thanks to the length of its arms, it is even possible to handle multiple rolls at once. We have also designed a mechanical version of the Aerogripper.

Lifting equipment for coated pipes

For lifting coated or concrete pipes that are not airtight, we have designed a specific lifting device. This device offers the same advantages as a vacuum lifting system: easy, fast, and safe handling with minimal direct contact. It automatically positions itself above the pipes, then the clamping mechanism activates automatically. We have also developed pipe-handling systems using finger clamps suspended from a spreader bar.
